Runway Pooch Family Pawtrait Hugo the Westie

‘Just the two of us, we can make it if we try…. Just the two of us, building castles in the sky.‘

Will Smith’s 1997 hit Just the Two of Us was playing in my head when I was shooting this Family Pawtrait for Hugo and his human dad Peter. I’m sure the doctor didn’t place Hugo in Peter’s arms soon after he was born, but I can imagine it was the breeder who had the honour instead.

No I’m not suggesting Peter is the male version of crazy dog lady. But the photos remind me of what Will and his son Trey had as depicted in Will’s song. Peter, a young ambitious entrepreneur, with the support from his paw-tner in crime Hugo, a nine year old West Highland White Terrier, can definitely build the tallest castles in the sky.

You know you love your denims. When you found a perfect pair that fits like a glove, you wear them day and night. Not convinced? Close your eyes, imagine you’re standing in front of your wardrobe, tell me how many pairs of jeans can you see? Whether you love denims as much as I do, denim chic is an all seasons key trend that’s not going away anytime soon. Ever thought of introducing denims into your dog’s wardrobe?

Family Pawtrait Nell the Rescue Princess

Nell, a six year old Border Collie x Kelpie, almost did not make it past 9 months old when her previous owner gave her up. According to the shelter’s policy, dogs without microchip will be automatically euthanised after a week in the shelter.

Nell was not microchipped. So you can imagine her story could have ended way too early. Somehow DOG (spelled backward) had a different plan for her. Not having microchip turned out to be a blessing for her. This led to a completely different outcome to Nell’s story, a story with an important message I had to share.

Runway Pooch Family Pawtrait: Hugo the Frenchie

I’m a little obsessed with Frenchies these days. I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s the big round eyes and the big perky ears. Everytime I see a Frenchie I just want to cuddle them and feed them with yummy treats. Way too cute not to!

I met Hugo from my local park. Hugo the one and a half year old French Bulldog, loves to eat and fart. He lives with his loving humans in East Sydney. Mum Maria is a lawyer and dad Marc is a patent engineer. I thought it would be nice to do a family pawtrait of them and get to know Hugo a bit more than our usual doggie play time in the park. Here’s what went down when I spoke to Hugo’s parents about him.

Family PAWtrait: Frank the Pug

The definition of family is no longer restricted to mum and dad plus children as it once used to be. To me the word family means a place where my dog is. Inspired by the unconditional love my dog Noodle gives me every single day since the day we met, I started this pawject called Family Pawtrait to tell stories of dogs and their family.

The Dog Who Wears Bow Tie With Trench Coat

My personal obsession for bow tie is apparent from the way I dress my dog. Guys are less fortunate than girls in the fashion department. We have a lot less than what girls get to play with when it comes to styles, silhouettes, materials, colors, cuts and garment types. Just look up Luisa Via Roma, one of the largest luxury fashion online retailer. There are 30 sub-categories listed under Clothing for women ranges from dresses to jumpsuits to skirts but they only have 22 for men. Does men fashion have to stop at plain old shirts and pants?
